What Impotence Aids Are There?

If you're interested in impotence aids, there are some things you can do besides just take Viagra or Cialis. Obviously, if you have that amount of money, or your insurance company covers it (does an insurance company EVER cover Viagra?) then good; but for most of us we need to rely upon more inexpensive means.

There was a small double-blind test done with L-Arginine where fifty men were given 5 grams of L-arginine (or the placebo) for six weeks. There was a definite improvement. Another test done with 32 men didn't show any improvement. The difference probably was in the amount of L-arginine they took every day. The smaller group only took 1,500 mg of L-arginine, rather than  5,000 mg.

It's also been combined with yohimbe, or the extracted yohimbine in combination with L-Arginine with good effects (6 grams total).

However, yohimbe or yohimbine should only be taken under a physician's guidance, because there are many potential risks with the taking of yohimbe.


Carnitine can be used as impotence aids; in a six-month double-blind test of one-hundred and twenty men, when they were given a combination of Carnitine and testosterone their erectile dysfunction improved. acetyl-l-carnitine 2 grams-per-day plus propionyl-l-carnitine grams-per-day added to testosterone at 160 milligrams-per-day.

Another study with 40 men who took Viagra, they failed to respond on eight different occasions. So, even Viagra sometimes fails in tests. However, when combined with acetyl forms of carnitine, the effectiveness increased.

Sometimes a combination of ginkgo biloba, ginseng and other vitamins and minerals can also help.

Magnet therapy that is called PEMF (Pulsed-electromagnetic-filed-therapy) has also been shown to be effective. You have to wear a small box near the genital area.

If you're considering treatment for impotence, DHEA, taken at 50 mg daily seemed to also improve erectile dysfunction.

Zinc deficiency is one of the impotence aids you might utilize; you should supplement with Calcium/Magnesium/Zinc.

Ah herb called Butea Superba has also been shown to help in a three-month randominzed trial test.

When you're considering impotence aids, maca enhances male sexual function when taken at 1.5 - 3 grams a day.

Since one of the causes of impotence is lack of blood flow to the penis... it makes sense that Ginkgo biloba might be useful. When you're considering impotence aids, ginkgo biloba, all-by-itself, failed to show improvement when done in the situation of double-blind study. It has been shown to be effective, though, in other tests which might have relied upon belief in Ginkgo.

If you're thinking of aphrodisiacs for women, you might consider yohimbe or the extract yohimbine. Make sure that you study the potential risks of taking yohimbe for long periods of time.
